Tax bills are out; Report read by Tax Collector

4:30-6 MWTh for tax drop off; or email to arrange for drop off

Mayor’s Report:

  • A Gift to the Future

Mayor acknowledged the great work happening around communication

Mayor read a letter from a former resident thanking the work of the Woodlings for their efforts to capture the history of the Borough

Finance:

KTZ: website renewal is due this year; needs updated credit card information

Ordinance:

  • Vote to advertise fence ordinance amendments

VJ/KTZ: unanimous

Parks & Property:

  • Triangle Park Gather Space Update

HS: update from meeting with landscape architect and engineers for design and development planning to prepare for cost estimations ahead of bidding; aiming to bid in summer with construction beginning in fall; revisiting steering committee ahead of next stages of development

Personnel:

  • Updates on Borough Secretary position
  • Vote to approve contract for interim Secretary

Streets:

  • Mid-January Snowfall: Resident feedback and Next Steps

AJ: first significant snowfall in more than 700 days; assistance from Swarthmore following equipment failures

  • Street Resurfacing for Aqua Repairs
    • Swarthmore Avenue from Morton Ave to 9th, Unity from Swarthmore to Rutledge, & Alternate for Waverly from Swarthmore to Rutledge or Alternate 

Proposal: Swarthmore Ave from Morton to 9th Ave; Unity from Swarthmore to Rutledge; Waverly from Swarthmore to Rutledge (looking at an alternate due to future Triangle Park work); partnering with Morton on street bid for better pricing

HS/AJ: unanimous

Trash & Recycling:        

  • New Yard Waste Signage
  • Letter to Residents Updated Draft
  • Trash Schedule Updated Format

HS: Chambers Church Conditional Use Hearing on March 4th at 7pm ahead of council meeting

AJ: crosswalk in Morton
